The Turning Point
2021 is almost here and it holds great promise. But I’d be lying if I said there wouldn’t be adversity. We are being challenged to let go of our old dreams and create something different under great duress. The gifts of 2021 will come in direct proportion to our willingness to change. It will be a year that is as hopeful as it is demanding. But the lessons 2020 will not go quietly into the night. We have a ton of work to do. And it’s hard to see the big picture when you are in an embattled situation. We will get through the pandemic. But will we really change the way we are living in this world? To me, the biggest tragedy would be that we simply muddle through this and fall back in to complacency. But I don’t think we will. The overwhelming and undeniable need for change will continue to goad us into building a new reality, because we have to.
2020 ends with a key planetary event that will help pave to road to future success. Many astrologers seem to have given a rather dour spin to the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius on December 21, 2020. I think they are missing the point. We’ve already been living through one of the toughest astrological transits ever these past months. I believe Jupiter lining up with Saturn in Aquarius will be a major change for the better. The cat’s out of the bag. It’s obvious we need to go in a different direction. Planetary forces in 2021 will give us a firm push to do just that. So, think positive, and get ready to do the heavy lifting as we begin the task of overhauling our lives.
Farewell to 2020
During the years leading up to 2020, certain structures and hierarchies were gaining enormous power. Unrest was palpable. Alarm bells were ringing. People were reacting. There were marches and protests. People were fighting like cats and dogs on the Internet. And then, Covid-19 hit, in exact correspondence with the conjunction of Saturn/Pluto in Capricorn. Talk about a slow-motion train wreck! Any illusions we had about abundance and security were systematically dismantled. Greedy people in powerful positions failed to protect us. But people didn’t just cower. People rose up. And some of the high and mighty have fallen from grace, or are about to. The seeds of change have been planted. That’s the kind of thing that’s supposed to happen during times like these. Out of crisis come major transformation. Things are not going back to the way they were. And that’s a good thing.
Thus, 2020 has ended up being one colossal wake-up call. But did we wake up? Or are we still halfway between waking and sleeping? We are now bearing witness to the results of being asleep at the Karmic Wheel. 2021 will continue our awakening. But we’ve got to stop fighting with each other. It’s like a bunch of people arguing on the beach over petty things while a tsunami looms in the background. Will we notice the tidal wave and help one another get to higher ground? In 2021, we most certainly have an opportunity to do so. Are you in?
Why 2021 is Different
Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius are what’s different. It’s happened before, but this one is a much bigger deal. The two planets will be closer to Earth than they’ve been since 1623. And this is the first time in about 200 years that they’re joining up in an Air Sign. During 2021, Saturn in Aquarius will make a tense square to Uranus in Taurus, leading some to fear a repeat of The Great Depression. But it’s not 1930 folks. We can do better than that. 2021 isn’t going to be easy street. But it will be a pivotal year for progress. Old structures will continue to collapse, and they need to. That’s right. The things that are falling apart need to fall apart, so we can rebuild something better. Building true cooperation would be a good start!
Aquarius is the symbol of the Humanitarian, the Scientist, the Alchemist, and the Visionary. But Aquarius is also a realist, able to employ cold, hard logic and practicality. Not exactly warm and fuzzy, but a shot in the arm, nonetheless. Quite literally, really, as the Covid-19 vaccine is about to come out. And for the nay-sayers, please, take a deeper look. There’s some really good science at work here. Jupiter in Aquarius will help us help us to forge alliances and friendships, even with former enemies, if we let it. It’s also good for developing workable ideas and problems solving. Paired with Saturn in Aquarius, we should be able to create structures that will allow us more and more freedom, even if some things will remain restricted for a while. This is all good news. We just need to get with the program. And I think we will. On a personal level, it’s time to release old patterns and drama that is tethering us to the past.
There’s a New Moon/Solar Eclipse at 23° Sagittarius, December 14, 2020 at 11:17 AM, EST. This is the companion to the Lunar Eclipse on November 30, 2020, and the last eclipse of the year, so it’s important. This one is a bit tense, as forces representing progress but up against illusion, confusion, and mis-information. Sounds about right. Mars heading in to a square with Pluto will definitely lead to some negative behavior in some, determination and resolve in others. But New Moons always represent a chance to wipe the slate clean and reset the energy for the coming weeks. The Sagittarius Eclipse can expand positivity. So, let’s do that. Sagittarius is an optimistic, think-outside-the-box Fire Sign. Use this energy to empower your higher self. This is a brilliant day to set up your intentions for the weeks to come.
Interestingly, this particular eclipse lines up with the chart of Donald Trump, bringing about inevitable changes in his destiny. 2020 is the most astrologically fateful year he has experienced in his life so far, which is a major factor I used in predicting his loss of the 2020 Election. There will undoubtedly be some kind of drama around the President around this lunar cycle. But this is the beginning of the end. And here’s an early prediction. Trump is not likely to run in 2024.
Winter Solstice occurs on December 21, 2020, in the Northern hemisphere, and the Sun goes into Earth Sign Capricorn. The sign of the goat-fish is known for hard work, high hopes, and practicality. A good Capricorn motto would be, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” We could all use a bit of that as we enter the Winter Cycle. The powerful ancient symbolism of Yule is the return of the Sun, the Son, or the Light. The shortest day and longest night give way to the return of hope. Many people all over the world will be celebrating this holiday. Join us with your energy to create the best possible future we can imagine. Think big! We need all the help we can get. That fact that the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius occurs on this day is magical and auspicious. For those of your who are spiritually inclined, there couldn’t be a better day to align your heart and soul with all those on this planet who are supporting the LIGHT. Blessings be upon us. Let’s manifest something grand.
There’s a Full Moon at 08° Cancer on December 30, 2020 at 10:28 PM, EST. The nickname for the December moon is the Cold Moon, for obvious reasons. Mars in Aries will be square to that old dragon, Pluto in Capricorn around this moon, so there’ll be some tension afoot. So, keep your cool, don’t be a fool, and stay out of trouble! The Cancer/Capricorn polarity has to do with finding the balance between our personal life, and our life out in the world. It also has to do with taking responsibility.
Opportunity Days: December 5, 7,8,12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, and 31. That’s a lot! Yay!
