February Femastrology 2020

Aquarius 2020

by Astrologer and Psychic Victoria Bearden

February brings us the first Mercury Retrograde of 2020. Mercury, the planet of communication, will enter the mysterious sign of Pisces on February 3, 2020. This will elevate creativity and compassion, but could have the opposite effect of logic and orderly thinking. So, keep your wits about you and get your ducks in a row before mid-month if possible. Mercury Retrograde can certainly get a bit messy, but there is a lot of good that can come during this period as well. This is a time when mysteries can be solved and secrets revealed, as we get hunches and insights about the past. It is also a good time to delve in to the hidden recesses of our minds to seek out and heal old wounds.

With Mercury Retrograde, travel, contracts, and major purchases can be tricky. It’s always best to avoid any transactions that cannot be reversed during these periods. Take measures to avoid buyer’s remorse and you should be okay. With Mercury in Pisces, communication could be a big issue, as emotions will spill over into rational thought much more frequently. Oddly enough, plumbing problems often arise during these cycles, so keep an eye on pipes, water heaters, and appliances. It probably goes without saying that phones, computers, cars, and other gizmos will get cranky, so keep that in mind. Patience is a great blessing.

Here’s the run down on this Mercury Retrograde Cycle:

1. Mercury Retrograde Shadow #1 starts on February 2, 2020. Not strong, but noticeable.
2. Mercury Retrograde Storm #1 runs from February 14-19. This can be challenging.
3. Mercury goes Retrograde at 12° Pisces on February 16, 2020. Now it’s for real.
4. Mercury Retrograde Storm #2 runs from March 6-13. Still a bit intense.
5. Mercury goes Direct on March 9, 2020 at 28° Aquarius. Way better, but still somewhat unpredictable.
6. Mercury Retrograde Shadow #2 runs from March 14-29. This is just the clean-up phase. No worries.

Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn are still close, but separating. The signature aspect of the past few years, this planetary combination is symbolic of great trials and tribulations, as we humans struggle to sort out our priorities. Saturn is finally moving away from Pluto, giving a little breathing room and hopefully, some perspective about how to solve some of the problems that have arisen. I remain optimistic that 2020 will give us a chance to “reset” some of the more difficult manifestations Saturn and Pluto have brought to bear. But we are by no means out of the woods. 2020 is a turning point to be certain, but the struggle to burst forth away from turmoil could easily get mired in conflict unless people are willing to take strong actions towards change.

There’s a Full Moon at 20° Leo on February 8, 2020 at 11:33 pm Pacific Time. That will make it February 9, 2020 at 2:33 am Eastern. Full Moons are potent, as they are the culmination of energy and actions from the previous cycle. The Aquarius/Leo polarity emphasizes our need to express our ego in a healthy way while maintaining the ability to cooperate and create with others. The fiery Full Moon in Leo will lend itself to some drama, which could be fun, unless tempers flare. With Mercury Retrograde coming in for a landing, this moon could lead to some emotional outbursts over poor communication, so be careful what you say. The Leo Moon can assist you with affirmations and magic intended to boost creativity, courage, and confidence.

The Sun enters Water Sign Pisces on March 18, 2020. Pisces is the last of the 12 signs, and represents the sum total of the lessons from all the others. This can be a cross to bear, as super-sensitive Pisces can sometimes feel overwhelmed by the dense vibrations that bombard us here on Earth. Those born under this sign are said to have to potential to be helpers, healers, and creators. On the flip side, some Pisces natives can slip into the abyss and become victims, escapists, martyrs, or saviors. Spirituality, inspiration, and creativity are enhanced at this time of year.

There’s a New Moon 4° Pisces on February 23, 2020. The Dark of the Moon is a time of new beginnings. Pisces holds the key to many great mysteries. Take advantage of this moon to meditate and seek intuitive answers about your Spiritual Path and life direction. Healing activities, such as energy balancing and Reiki can be particularly effective around this time.

Opportunity Days: February 4, 5, 17, 24, 28, and 29
