We honor her legacy as a champion for equal rights and as a respected jurist who was progressive and independent in her approach. Case by case, her legal authorship enshrined equality into our laws. She taught us to never give up and to always stand for what is right regardless of the odds. With grace and resilience, she broke many barriers for women in America. Her life and passing, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, is both symbolic and full of hope.
