The tide begins to turn this may as Jupiter in Virgo goes direct on May 9, 2016. It will take a little while to be noticeable, but rest assured it is a step in the right direction in terms of economic momentum and growth. Some feel that Jupiter in Virgo is a bit of a buzz kill, but this isn’t necessarily the case. Virgo is an Earth Sign and is strongly linked to service and work. With Jupiter moving at a faster pace, the benefits from the Virgo energy will be much more apparent, particularly regarding employment statistics. There are positive planetary connections between Jupiter in Virgo, Venus in Taurus, and Pluto in Capricorn that signal potential gain and increase this month. In the Fall Jupiter will move into Venus-ruled Libra, which should be even better news!
Mercury Retrograde continues to be a pest for most of the month but turns direct on May 22, 2016. This is good news, but to be honest, we will not likely really notice things straightening out until the end of the month. Mercury rules communication and can wreck all kinds of havoc in many areas, including correspondence, contracts, technology, appointments, and travel. Things tend to break down or go sideways. It’s best to slow down and take a “time out” whenever possible during Mercury Retrograde periods, but that isn’t always practical. If you must forge ahead with new plans, major purchases, or elective surgeries, try to be patient and good-natured if any setbacks occur.
Mark your calendars for May 9, 2016, as Mercury will cross in front of the Sun! This is a unique event that only happens 13-14 times a century. The next one won’t occur until 2019. This may trigger solar flares, weather shifts, and earthquake activity. Look for auspicious events around the time of the Mercury Occultation.
There’s a New Moon in Taurus on May 6, 2016 and a Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 21, 2016.
Opportunity Days: May 3, 8, 15, 19, 20, and 30
