Autumn Equinox on September 22, 2017, set the fast-paced tone for October and the Fall Cycle. The Equinoxes and Solstices mark the 4 turning points in the year, so the astrology chart of Fall is sort of a “snapshot” of the entire quarter. The Sun is now in relationship focused Air Sign, Libra. This bodes well for all endeavors requiring cooperation, diplomacy, and compromise. Thank goodness, we can all use some of that about now!
August and September have been fraught with drama, as planetary tension rolled out some major chaos after the Big Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017. If you are wondering where all the wild weather and earth changes came from, wonder no more. That eclipse packed quite a wallop, and we will continue to see “fateful” events related to that Cosmic Flashpoint for months, if not years to come. Now it’s time to learn our lessons, roll up our sleeves, and get to work to make sense of all this change. Mercury (communication), Venus (love), And Mars (desire), all line up in productive Earth Sign Virgo now, and this will help “get the lead out.” A strong trine between Mars and Pluto will give the necessary get-up- and-go to those who are ready to work. Productive, practical, and sensible activities will get you where you want to go! No Mercury retrograde to worry about now! All systems are go! But there is a lot of work to do, as the powerful planetary influences of the Summer have turned some aspects of our lives on their heads. It’s time to get your Emotional Equilibrium back in sync, so real progress can be made.
The Autumn Cycle came in with another strong vibration, as Jupiter in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries. Sudden breakthroughs, game changers, new opportunities, and a touch of chaos can be expected. This is an electrifying powerhouse of energy for communication and creativity. It will also ramp up all issues pertaining to legality, equality, religion, and Civil Rights. Once again, time to buckle up! This influence will be strong during October, and will stir up some controversy in our personal lives, and globally. The Peaceful Revolution is on!
Mars, the God of War, is opposing Neptune, the God of Spirit. This is a confusing situation, as the need for compassion seems to be at odds with the aggressive desires of individuals in power. In our own lives, we may struggle with the need to take care of our own needs, as opposed to our desires to cater to the desires of those we love. On the world stage, the rantings of war and aggression stand in stark contrast to the immense cry of human and animal suffering we see around us, from recent natural and man-made disasters. When tough planetary influences like this arise, it can be painful, but often represents a chance for a leap in consciousness for the group mind. Be wary of “going off the deep end” or losing your cool when it comes to your core beliefs. Actions are important, but we need to be productive and proactive, not destructive. There’s plenty of destructive energy out there we need to repair and fend off!
There’s a Full Moon at 12° Aries on October 5, 2017, at 11:40 am PDT. The Aries/Libra axis is all about Me versus We. Emotional energy is at its peak during the days leading up to and directly following a Full Moon. And fiery Aries is both sexy and a bit volatile! The energy of this Moon can help us get some insight about what we need to do to find real balance in important relationships. Passions run high and the true challenge is staying present with intense emotions… both our own, and others. Aries wants what it wants, sometimes to the detriment of compromise. Libra wants to please and create peace, sometimes at the expense of boundaries. Too much compromise may keep the peace, but doesn’t keep passion alive, because too much energy is being stifled. Too much emphasis on our own needs does not allow for the true spirit on partnership. Use this Full Moon energy to tap into your Inner Yin and Yang, and get the balance right.
Jupiter (expansion and growth) goes into serious Water Sign Scorpio on October 10, 2017. This foretells good fortune for all those with Scorpio prominent in their birth charts. But hey, we all have Scorpio somewhere in our horoscopes! Scorpio is one of the signs of the zodiac directly related to money and shared resources. This is a favorable influence for business partnerships. Jupiter will transit through Scorpio from October 2017 through November 2018. Jupiter in Scorpio favors conservative, long-range planning when it comes to financial decisions. And it can really pay off! Jupiter in Scorpio also marks a period where many deep and profound truths will be uncovered for those who seek them. It also highlights the quest for legal truth regarding those in power. This should get interesting, in light of what’s been brewing in the US political arena, and in other important global situations. Many secrets come to light while Jupiter is in Scorpio.
October 19, 2017 is a particularly good day to initiate any business plans. You can also use the super-positive energy of this day to form a powerful intention for blessings and abundance.
There’s a New Moon at 26° Libra on October 19, 2017 at 12:12 pm PDT. New Moon represents a Cosmic reboot and a “clean slate” for the weeks ahead. This New Moon will be a stunner, since the Sun/Moon combo will oppose Trickster Uranus in Aries, the agent of Change and Revolution. Whoa! Hold on to your hats. There will be a lot going on and sudden changes are likely. There may also be some “earth changes” associated with this one, as Uranus is a trigger for such things, particularly earthquakes and tsunamis. This is a chance for us to review important relationship issues again, which is a major theme this month. You can’t “make” someone love you. If you need to let go of the past and embrace something new (or someone new) make your peace with this now, and get ready to manifest a new partner.
Opportunity Days: October 4, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 19, 21, 28, and 31
