Libra 2019

October Femastrology 2019

By Astrologer and Psychic Victoria Bearden

October gets the Fall cycle into full swing. This is an important time to get things accomplished, as Mercury, the planet of communication, will go retrograde at the end of the month. So, the challenge is on! Get busy, stay focused, and get your ducks in a row. The Libra Sun serves to remind us to stay in balance, especially when there is a lot to do. An important Libra keyword is equilibrium, a state in which opposing forces are in balance. Another is homeostasis, the ability to maintain internal stability to compensate for environmental changes. We could all benefit from putting more conscious attention into bringing composure and harmony into our lives.

The spirit of Libra also helps shed light on the true nature of our important relationships, for better, or for worse. Get in sync with the relationships that represent who and what you are. Strive to bring balance into relationships that have gotten off track. And consider letting go of relationships that are not for the higher good. It’s usually not that hard to tell which ones those are, it’s just not always easy to do.

Saturn in Capricorn is direct now, slowly moving back towards Pluto. This dynamic and sometimes devilish duo will come back into sharp focus during the last months of 2019. This powerful and fateful planetary combo is the hallmark of our times, representing the most profound lessons we humans must learn, both personally, and globally. Many of us know all too well what this feels like on a personal level. If you are a Capricorn born during the second week of January, or if you have a Capricorn Moon or Rising, you know what I’m talking about.

Situations we have tolerated for years are have finally come to a tipping point. Saturn is the ultimate reality check, demanding that we get real and take care of business. Pluto strips away all the covers and exposes what’s going on at our core. Together, they deliver a powerful message about taking responsibility for our own transformation. A word to the wise: if you know you need to make major changes in your life or attitude, do it willingly. Don’t wait for the Universe to come make you do it! Be proactive, embrace change, get help if you need it, and take action, one step at a time!

Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn are making their mark on the geopolitical stage. Immense power struggles are unfolding as the players jockey for position and dominance. There are dramas rivaling the best of Shakespeare in the headlines almost daily. The things that are being set in motion at this time will have reverberations for many years to come. What we are seeing this year is the preview of major themes that will continue to play out in 2020. As you might imagine, Donald Trump’s chart is right in the crosshairs of this planetary aspect, and he will undoubtedly be facing the biggest challenges of his life in the months to come. Love him or hate him, he is symbolic of the USA and the karmic lessons the country is facing. And as I’ve said many times in recent months, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

There’s a Full Moon at 20° Aries on October 13, 2019. The Full Moon is the high point of all the energy that has built up during the preceding month. Things come into focus and often change in a big way under the light of these moons. The Sun in Libra opposes the Aries Moon, and creates a tense T-square with Pluto in Capricorn. This could bring up clashes of will and major disagreements. Aries is the God of War, and Libra is the emissary of peace and diplomacy. And Pluto represents power. The contrast between individualism and partnership will be highlighted. In your personal life, you may be challenged to find a way to balance your own needs with the needs of those you love. Politically, there will be struggles of a similar nature and not everyone will be looking for a “win/win.” So, choose your battles, and find ways to compromise if conflict arises. The true power of this Full Moon lies in our ability to integrate the opposing forces in our own nature.

There’s a New Moon at 04° Scorpio on October 28, 2019. The Dark of the Moon is a quietly powerful time. This moon occurs right before Mercury goes retrograde, so pay attention to important communication. This is a spiritually potent week as we head towards Samhain, Halloween, All Souls, and Dia de los Muertos. The veil between the two worlds will be thin, and spirit communication with the departed is enhanced. The Scorpio New Moon could serve as a portal to the other side, giving you insight about secrets and hidden mysteries. This would be a fantastic night for some ghost hunting.

Mercury, the planet that presides over communication, travel, and technology, is going into its last Retrograde cycle of 2019. Mercury will turn retrograde on October 31, 2019 at 27° Scorpio, resurrecting all sorts of heavy, important communication from the past months. With Scorpio, problems often arise because of information that has been hidden, obscured, or lied about. So, don’t do that! Secrets may be revealed during this cycle.

With Mercury Retrograde it’s best to put off signing contracts, making major purchases, or extensive travel plans. If you can opt out of major decision making until late November, that would be better. If not, the key is patience, persistence, and preparation. When in doubt, check, double-check, and then check again. Some things will fall through the cracks anyway, but you can certainly minimize this by being grounded and somewhat hyper-vigilant. During Mercury retrograde you will learn things about the past, and people from the past often show up, too.

Here’s the run down on this Mercury Retrograde Cycle:

1. Mercury Retrograde Shadow #1 starts on October 11, 2019…that’s when it started creeping in.
2. Mercury Retrograde is official on October 31, 2019. Now it’s for real.
3. Mercury Retrograde Storm #1 runs from October 28 through November 3, 201. This is when it is most intense.
4. Mercury goes Direct on November 20, 2019. This is good, but still highly unpredictable.
5. Mercury Retrograde Storm #2 runs from November 17-23. It’s intense again, but about to go the right direction.
6. Mercury Retrograde Shadow #2 runs from November 24 through December 7, 2019. It’s pretty much over, but still has a little bit of sway. We should have clear sailing for the Winter Holidays!

Opportunity Days: October 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12, 15, 16, 25, 27, 30, and 31
