September brings in change with a squirrely Full Moon, Saturn Direct, Fall Equinox and more. The month begins with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars in productive Virgo, so if you need to get moving with your goals and projects this ought to help! When the going gets tough, the Virgos get busy! Virgo is also related to health, so this is a good time of year to address physical and nutritional concerns.
Saturn in Capricorn finally goes direct on September 18, 2019. The Ringed Planet has been retrograding since April and will finally change direction, but it will be at a near standstill for most of the month. This may seem like the very definition of the doldrums. But don’t just sit there. The best way to deal with Saturn’s dominance is by getting down to business. No shortcuts, no procrastination, and no daydreaming allowed. As 2019 continues, we’ll all get a chance to get our dreams more in alignment with reality, but not without some work. I picture Saturn retrograde as a big rusty gate you can see past but you can’t really get through. The gate is now going to slowly move out of the way! Yippee! So, get your ducks in a row this September and take definite steps towards the things you want and need the most. You’ll see more and more progress in the months to come.
There’s a Full Moon at 21° Pisces on September 13-14, 2019. Emotional energy and tempers will run high with the Sun and Mars in Virgo opposing the Full Moon and Neptune in Pisces. This will be a particularly intense moon, and we all might be feeling a little crazy, so keep a level head and choose your battles. Avoid the temptation to jump into drama and use the energy for something creative or spiritual instead. Keep your wits about you, as the Full Moon/Neptune combo is notorious for creating confusion, illusion, and spaciness. Sometimes a Mars/Neptune contact will bring up situations with deceptive and nefarious people. Don’t be paranoid, but if you get a bad feeling about someone, heed your intuition. Also, be careful with drugs, alcohol, and chemicals on this moon.
Autumn Equinox falls on September 23, 2019, when the Sun enters Libra, the Sign of Balance. Libra is ruled by the element of Air, symbolizing communication and the flow of knowledge and ideas. But Libra is ruled by Love Goddess Venus, and wants meaning and connection, not just talk! The sign of the Scales is also related to justice, fairness, and equality. Let’s use the Libra energy this fall to further our sense of harmony and relatedness, especially with those who are not like us. Always remember, everyone you encounter is holding up a mirror for you so you can better see your True Self. Be the mirror for them, too, in the best way possible.
The Fall Equinox is a major celebration in the Pagan world and corresponds with the holiday Mabon. Druids offer libations and gifts to the tree spirits of the forest. Wiccans and pagans do rituals and share in feasts and festivities. It is a time of harvest and acknowledgement of the abundant gifts Mother Earth has bestowed upon us. By the Goddess, may we never lose our gratitude for these gifts! Humanity has always struggled with our relationship with the Great Mother, Gaia, as if we could ever be independent of her, or “conquer” her. I hope and pray more and more people gain awareness of just how much we are influencing life on this planet, and our own potential for survival on it! And I hope and support all the intelligent young people who are interested in finding new tools to create solutions for the problems we have created. This is a time to be thankful, but also to give back and do things that matter for the good of all sentient beings on this Earth.
There’s a New Moon at 05° Libra on September 28, 2019. New Moons always represent at change to go within and reset your energy for the weeks ahead. This New Moon may help you gain clarity about some of your most important relationships.
Opportunity Days: September 3, 8, 10, 18, 19, and 24
