Springing Ahead

We head into April with all the planets moving forward and the momentum of Spring urging us towards new starts and growth. Everyone who reads my newsletter knows, I don’t pull any punches. When the planets are behaving badly, I will let you know. This being said, I would like to remind everyone that 2020 was slated to be one of the most challenging years ever, astrologically speaking. And we got through it. But there was lots of collateral damage. Now, things are different. There is reason to be hopeful and energized towards problem solving and positive change. And this month is full of the right energy for this! You’ll also want to get things moving this month, as the Shadow of Mercury Retrograde will be creeping in by mid-May. It won’t be retrograde for real until the end of May, but Mercury Retrograde has a way of giving lots of previews as it comes into focus. June will be the main month for retrograde, so make hay while the sun shines!

Saturn Square Uranus

The fly in the ointment this year is Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus. It’s the ultimate round peg being pounded into a square hole. Our lives have gone through a radical reset, and we were thrust into a new era in a startling way. The signs of societal change have been everywhere, but the rug was literally pulled out from under our feet because of the pandemic. This year, with Saturn and Uranus battling it out, we’ll have to truly make sure we don’t throw the baby out with the bath water, as we somewhat blindly forge ahead. Still, out of necessity, many powerful and positive changes are taking place now. Each one of us has our own version of this reconstructive task in our own lives. And as the year progresses, Saturn and Uranus will ebb and flow in their relationship. Some changes we try to institute won’t work, and new solutions will be necessary. But many changes that are happening will work, but in some cases, will be hard won. So, chin up, and be courageous about moving ahead with your goals and plans.

If you are an Aquarius and your birthday falls between January 29 and February 4, you will experience Saturn square Uranus in a much more personal way. This will be the same for Taurus born between April 29 through May 4, Leo born between July 29 and August 4, and Scorpio born between October 29 and November 4. This is because Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus will be making strong transits, simultaneously, and alternately, to your Sun Sign on and off during 2021. This means is it even more import to embrace important changes needed in your life. Removing obstacles and editing out things you no longer need will be a great help as well. Adaptability will be a major asset. This influence can be strenuous, but great rewards will come from the work you do, both on yourself, and your outer world.

There’s a New Moon at 22° Aries, April 11, 2021 at 7:30 PM, PDT. This is a powerful New Moon in Fire Sign Aries. Venus, the Goddess of love, lends some passion to the mix. But the New Moon, the Sun, and Venus create a tense square to transformative Pluto in Capricorn. This square will stir up deep feelings and compel people to break free from those who seek to control them. This can have a big impact on relationships that are already on the rocks. It can also help to clear the air in relationships that need a little progressive confrontation. Intentions and magic related to fostering courage and independence will be potent during this Full Moon. It will also be good for intentions to help find balance and clarity in intimate relationships.

The Sun Enters earthy, creative, abundant Taurus on April 20, 2021. Taurus energy will help keep us grounded as we forge ahead into the rest of the year. The sign of the Bull is uniquely associated with the Earth itself, and nature, so get out into the country or do some gardening if you can. It’s also great for increasing material resources and the creative arts, particularly singing.

There’s a Full Moon at 07° Scorpio on April 26, 2021 at 8:31 PM, PDT. Make sure to check your time zone, in case the Full Moon is on April 27 in where you live. The Sun in Taurus and the Moon in Scorpio make a dynamic T-square to Saturn in Aquarius. This will fan the flames of rebelliousness, power struggles, and the quest to find freedom from limitations. Although this is not a particularly peaceful planetary pattern, it can act as dynamite to blast through obstacles if you use it correctly. The Taurus/Scorpio polarity has a lot to do with the relationship between the physical body and the subtle, experiential, emotion body. There is a great opportunity to dig deep into old patterns in order to unblock the energy pathways between the body, mind, and spirit. The Scorpio Full Moon is aligned with shamanic rituals and the wisdom of the ancient ones. It is a fantastic Full Moon for intentions and magic related to transformation, healing, vision quests, and communicating with deceased loved ones and spirit guides.
