Batten down the hatches, shore up your tech equipment, and get ready for things to spin sideways!  Mercury Retrograde in Cancer is coming in for a landing!  It happens on June 7 but you’ll already be seeing it in action by June 1. And it’s in effect for the whole month. What’s it all about? Mercury is the planet associated with communication, transportation, and, in this day and age, computers and technology. When it goes into its retrograde cycle, things are more likely to slip or glitch. This doesn’t have to be a big problem, but for some folks, it could be. It’s not the greatest energy for starting new things, like a new job, new living situation, or even a new girlfriend! It’s also a time when it’s harder to rely on technology, which is why some astrologers will tell you not to have elective surgery or buy new equipment during these periods. Schedules get messed up, stuff breaks down, people say the wrong thing and show up at the wrong time. You might think that happens all the time. It does. It’s just way more likely when good old Mercury gets constipated.

 

But fear not! Forewarned is forearmed. You can’t change Mercury Retrograde, but you can certainly slow things down a little, plan carefully, double checks important plans, and work on patience. Things from “the past” can come up, sometimes in a very favorable way, which can be a perk, or at very least, an important review of some lesson we need to revisit. There’s a Full Moon in fiery Sagittarius on June 12, Summer Solstice on June 21, and the New Moon in Cancer on June 27.

For all the Sun Signs: Mercury Retrograde aside, we will all benefit from Mars in Libra having gone direct. This will make all kinds of matters involving relationships, law, and negotiations clearer and potentially more favorable. Even with Mars in Libra direct, he will still be doing the angry tango with Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn for the first half of the month.  This means strong underlying tension is afoot, both globally and personally, highlighting our need to address conflict in a progressive manner.

Aries (March 21-April 19)   Mercury retrograde or not, you will benefit from communicating with people this month. Curb your tendency to scatter your energy and focus your abilities to make important connections. Clarify your intentions and desires to loved ones. And slow down a touch. Aries born around April 4 might feel like someone lit a fire under your shoes. Reel yourself back in and avoid impulsive errors.

 

Taurus (April 20-May 20) Venus is in Taurus, Yippee! This is a great time for you to enjoy creativity, sensual pleasures, and abundance. You may be feeling like a splurge, but make sure you are viewing your bank account accurately first. With Mercury retrograde, if you make a major purchase now, just make sure it’s returnable, just in case.

 

Gemini (May 21-June 20) Take this opportunity to impress people. You may have had some fits and starts over the last few months, but now is your time. Be creative. Let people see the real you. Put fear behind you and concentrate on all that is good and positive in your world. Single? Mars in Libra direct may open up the doors to some romance.

 

Cancer (June 21-July 21) The Universe wants to be your best buddy right now, so let it! Seek out the supportive elements in your environment. There are people who truly have your back. Recognize them. The rest can get in line. Pay attention to your intuition, it might be working overtime, so listen. Rest a little, too.

 

Leo (July 23-August 22) You could end up being everybody’s darling this month. Be careful though, as this may make your intimates a bit jealous for your attention! Dress nicely at work. People are noticing you. And take advantage of all your important social connections now. People will want to be helpful. Let them.
