September 2016 Femastrology

This month makes a dramatic entrance with an Annular Solar Eclipse at 9 degrees Virgo on September 1, 2016. Eclipses mark periods or endings and beginnings… a time when highly significant events are more likely and fate tends to have more of a “free hand.” As the earth, the moon, and the sun interact it’s almost as if time holds its breath for moment, and cosmic energy comes streaming in on a new wavelength. This particular eclipse is related to a Virgo Solar Eclipse in September of 1997. You might want to review your life during that time to see if there are “karmic correlations” to your current scenario.

People always ask me at this point whether or not these eclipses are “Good or Bad.” I have to say neither. The words I would use to describe Eclipse Energy would be as follows: Auspicious, Enlightening, Elucidating, Transformational, and potentially Liberating. It all depends on you, your decisions, and your perspective about life. Certainly, these periods can indicate fateful changes, both globally and personally. If your birthday falls near to this eclipse you are in for a big year!

Since this Solar Eclipse is in a somewhat tense relationship to Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces we may see some more “serious consequences” as certain situations come to a head. Mercury going retrograde on August 30th will also add to the fray. We are learning many lessons about compromise, and the need to reconcile our dreams with reality. During these times of change it is always wise to make a conscious effort to be centered and grounded. Clear your mind and check in with your Higher Self and your Intentions. In this way, you will be able to tune in to this powerful vibration and gain great insight. Be mindful about all kinds of communication. When in doubt, DO NOTHING. This way you will be more helpful as many people will over-react to things at this time. Eclipse energy tends to have a strong effect the week before and the week after the event itself. And the events that take place during that time will keep rolling for months afterward.

Sometimes, earth changes coincide with eclipses. This one will only be visible across Africa and the Middle East, and we may some more noticeable events in these regions.

We will also have a solid few weeks of Mercury Retrograde in Virgo this September. The Virgo Vibe has to do with Health and Work, which could prove to be major Mercury Retrograde themes from some of us. If you are a Virgo or have Virgo prominent in your chart it may have more impact on you. It is best to hold off on big decisions, purchases, or contracts during September if possible. Mercury Retrograde is not particularly favorable for starting new things. Of course, Life sometimes has a different schedule in mind, so if you must forge ahead with new plans, a careful and systematic approach will help.

There is a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse at 24 degrees Pisces on September 16, 2016, related to an eclipse at around the same degree in September 16, 1997. This one is strongly linked to personal and transpersonal healing, with Chiron in the mix. Uranus opposite Venus will stir big relationship changes for some. This eclipse is just a day after Mercury goes direct, so we may see some big events in world news…as the planetary forces are quite strong. Those with birthdays near this date are in for a highly significant year. m

Other important news this month: Jupiter goes into Libra on September 9, 2016, which is great, particularly for you Libras! And Pluto in Capricorn goes direct on September 26, 2016, which will give us more energy to make lasting changes.

September 22, 2016 is Fall Equinox, as the Sun enters Libra at about 7:21 am Pacific Time. Take time to celebrate a new cycle. Autumn is about harvest and gratitude. This is a good day to get in tune with your higher purpose.
