Sun Sign Profile: Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Virgo, like Scorpio and Capricorn, is one of those Sun Signs that seems to always get bad press. Do they deserve it? Well, maybe, but all the Sun Signs have their flip side. I remember one client, who’s name happened to be Virginia (thanks mom!), who was particularly vexed about being born under the sign of the Virgin.  When prodded about the issue, she would launch into a rolling diatribe about her name rhyming vagina, and everyone assuming she was uptight, nit-picky, and frigid! Of course, none of that would be funny if it wasn’t a little bit true, right? Sadly, Virgos don’t always have the gift of laughing at themselves. They know they aren’t perfect, which is what drives them to tell you how to be, and to try to fix everything they come across. Rust never sleeps, and often these busy Earth signs don’t either. No wonder many of them are so slim!  Making all those lists and worrying 24/7 burns a lot of calories!

Joking aside, Virgos have a wonderful array of attributes. Their earthiness makes them physical and industrious. They like to work! And they are driven to become very good at what they do. Ruled by Mercury, like Gemini, they are quick and mentally alert. The blending of physical and mental energy works beautifully in professions requiring craftsmanship, dexterity, and fine tuning. Helper/Healer types, they are often drawn towards the healing arts. Truly, a happy Virgo is someone who feels they are doing a good job, and there’s nothing wrong with that!

When Virgo is out of sync there will be chaos. When not dialed in to a good routine, they can become scattered, over-obligated, messy, and caught up in trivia. Environmentally sensitive, if they are out of kilter or around negative energy, it can make them physically ill.

In love, Virgos are sometimes drawn to their fellow Earth Signs, Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, and although this can be a very physically sexy combo, it can turn into an all work/no play scenario quite easily. Water signs Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio can use their emotional/intuitive vibes to calm Virgo down and pull them into their sensuality. Energetic Fire Signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius will excite Virgos gung ho nature, but can end up taking advantage of their desire to please and serve. Air Signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius flow mentally, but not always physically with the Virgin.

For all the Sun Signs: September begins on a strongly emotional note, during the final rays of a Pisces Full Moon on Friday August 31. Yet the energy that begins the month is also creative and high-spirited, so enjoy it! Mercury Retrograde is done, so hopefully, you’ve wrapped up your loose ends from the last cycle and are ready to work and move forward! The tension between Uranus and Pluto still provides a steady drumbeat of forced adaptation. As humans, we don’t like change, unless it’s our idea! And these days we are constantly reminded that there are certain things we cannot control. The bright side; this is a GREAT time to exercise power over the things you KNOW you can get done!!!

Aries (March 21-April 19) You’ll be able to get so much done this month if you don’t scatter your energy! Some of your tasks may involve solving pesky health issues. Get your errands done so you can enjoy yourself as Venus slides into Leo. You will be feeling quite inspired by it in a week or so!

Taurus (April 20-May 20) You are feeling serious, as your responsibilities are highlighted at this time, but remember life is not just about work! There are strong creative and spiritual forces around you, begging you to open up and play! Do something inspired.

Gemini (May 21-June 20) Your energy is blissful at times now, but there are matters involving home and family that may require your attention. Plan your fun time for a little later in the month, after the dust settles.

Cancer (June 21-July 21) Over-obligated Cancers may feel like they’re gonna explode this month, as the demands of life get piled on even thicker. Remember, saying no is sometimes the right thing to do. Your ideas will not germinate as well if you are in chaos.

Leo (July 23-August 22) This should be a good month for you cats! Venus is heading into your sign, which is good for love and creativity, and the Sun is shining in your money area, which can give you clarity and inspiration there! Sounds like a good blend of work and play are in order!

Virgo (August 23-September 22) Happy Birthday Virgo! This will be a great month for you in the career sector. Put your best foot forward and ask for want you want! You’ll probably get it. You might try that approach in your personal life, too. It could use a little work.

Libra (September 23-October 22) You might be feeling a little moody and you’ve got a lot on your mind. Rather than trying to smile and ignore it, why not take a mental health break and go to a spa, a yoga class, or for a relaxing hike by a lake? Tune in and release your stress.

Scorpio (October 23-Novemeber 21) You are feeling the pressure to achieve and you can do a lot this month. Just don’t let hot-headed Mars in your sign make you want to push other people around too much.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21) There could be some major developments affecting your overall life direction right now. It might make you feel a little nervous, but it’s definitely a good thing. Things that have needed to change for some time start doing so!

Capricorn (December 22-January 19) Don’t let the world consume you Cap! Go out there and practice what you preach. Pull yourself together and use your knowledge and skill to do the best you can. Others will notice and you’ll make some breakthroughs.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18) Lots of intense feelings right now! Rational mind, be damned! Enjoy the ride. Get into your emotional self. Venus and Jupiter want to pull you into the deep end of the Love Pool.

Pisces (February 19-March 20) This is a good time to ask yourself who it is you would really like to spend time with. There are people who are worth your while. If you refuse to seek them out, how will they know you are interested?
